O-Rings and Seals

our procedures are impeccable

Our specialty is solving sealing problems for original equipment manufacturers. Please contact us at (303) 758-2728 if you need help with a sealing problem or design.

We carry o-rings, seals, custom molded rubber parts, wipers, diaphragm, valves and u-cups in all types of materials including Kalrez®, Viton™, Simriz®, nitrile (buna-n), neoprene, rubber, silicone, polyurethane, TFE and FEP encapsulated elastomers.

relationships and exceeding our
customer expectations.

KalrezKalrez® O-rings and Seals

Kalrez® resists over 1,800 different chemicals while offering high temperature stability (600°F/316°C). It is used in highly aggressive chemical processing, semiconductor wafer processing and other demanding sealing applications.

Viton FKM fluorocarbon o-rings and seals Viton™ O-rings and Seals

Viton™ has excellent (400°F/200°C) heat resistance and is very resistant to aggressive fuels and chemicals. There are three families of polymers: A, B, and F.

elastomers for o-rings and sealsElastomers for O-rings and Seals

Choosing the right elastomer for your application is very important. If you are not careful you can choose the very best, such as a Kalrez® o-ring, when a cheaper elastomer would actually work better.

elastomer propertiesElastomer Properties

The proper o-ring and seal design depends on a knowledge of many elastomer properties such as hardness, tensile strength, compressive response, compression set, stress relaxation, abrasion resistance and tear resistance.

seal design theory Seal Design Theory

The use of an o-ring as a seal is mainly to prevent the transfer of fluid (liquid, solid or gas) between two or more regions. Successful seal design ensures adequate seal compressive force while minimizing the destructive stress acting on the o-ring.

o-ring and seal failure analysis Seal Failure Analysis

O-rings and seals fail for many reasons. It is useful to analyze the environment, seal design and elastomer when there is a failure. PSP, Inc. helps manufacturers correct problems with sealing failures.

Fluid Compatibility Fluid Compatibility Charts

Before designing an o-ring or seal, it is important to know how compatible the elastomer is with all the chemicals that will contact it.

Problems Solved

We solve problems by analyzing each individual application in depth. The seal design is critically important and it must be sized right. Otherwise, the seal will fail, perhaps with disastrous results. This was the case with train that that leaked oil and started fires all along the track.
